For any human being, there is the calendar year, your birth cycle year, based on a specific month, and sometimes even a religious year, based on beliefs.

Which year cycle do you you choos to use as you plan yourself.

I use one, and definitely my year of birth. I count and organize my year around my birthday.
The calendar year is just for official use because, like work, it is pegged to calendar years

I only use one. I find it more realistic to use my birth year cycle to plan my self as opposed to using the calendar year.
